Amazing Product, Great Price.
I was hesitant about buying these, doubting they would work as advertised, especially at that price point. But I’m so glad I did. They were very easy to set up and install on the curtain track over our sliding glass doors with our new curtains (also purchased on Amazon along with the track). These can be controlled by an app on my phone. You have to buy two of them if you want curtains that part from the middle, still a steal compared to automated track which goes for hundreds more. These can be controlled by an app on my phone. You do have to buy two of them if you want curtains that part from the middle, one for each side. Still a steel compared to automated track which goes for much more. I love that we can set this up to open and close at certain times of the day to keep the heat out of the room on really hot days. There are two speed modes, standard, which is pretty fast and shown here, and something called quiet mode I think which opens much much more slowly and quietly. I believe that mode is designed to light into a bedroom gradually in the morning without waking you up. The set of curtains shown here (also from Amazon) block UV light have a rich linen feel and look and cost about $160 for both panels, pleated, each 8 feet wide. The track itself (also from Amazon) was easy to mount. I bought enough to cover the full 16 foot width of these doors for $85. That adds up to $430 plus tax for an entire entirely new, beautiful window treatment that keeps the sun from fading our wood floor and rug in the morning .

Works Great
I recently purchased this product. The setup was quick and easy without too much trouble. It was nice that I didn’t have to take down the curtain rob in order to install it. The installation tutorial had both photos and videos on how to do it. After installation, I was able to setup the device in silent mode where I couldn’t hear the device at all. Even though I have a relatively heavy curtain, this device was able to move it with easy while remaining silent. This is a great alternative to a sunrise clock to instead use natural light. It has a lot of different attachments so should work with most curtains.

Smart homes are stupid
So, people are right when they say set up is clunky and needlessly complicated. The company needs to hire a UX expert. The instructions are wordy and unclear. The SwitchBot works to open and close which is good, but getting it to pair with my Apple HomePod is confusing and I still haven’t managed to make it work. I just want to be able to say, “siri, open the curtains”. I bought the hub, don’t even get me started on how annoying it is that I need to buy a device to connect to a different device, but whatever we are living in an age of insane tech bloat. I’ll update the review in the next few weeks, hopefully can increase the number of stars.Update: got it to connect to HomeKit. Needed to give the native app more permissions. When you long press the hub to connect to matter, it’ll reset your settings and internet (lol). The quiet mode only works in the native app, but if I want to open and close the curtains at sunrise and sunset (which I do) I need to automate that in HomeKit. So, either have it work at the times I want or have it work quietly. Sigh. It’s still cheaper than automated blinds, which would run me about $1200. All in, I spent about $400 on this for two very large windows.Second edit: I contacted the developer—there is a way in the native app to control via quiet mode at sunrise and sunset. However, there is little chance someone might figure that out on their own. I’m annoyed I have to use both my Apple HomeKit and the SmartBot app.I put these curtain openers on back tab blinds where the rod is hung about 10 inches higher than the window. You can’t see the device at all, from inside or outside, which I like. So if you are concerned about aesthetics (which I am), use them on back tab curtains. Otherwise, the devices work as intended, with some glitches. They do a lot of things right, primarily they open and close my curtains as intended. Looking forward to app updates, hopefully they can hire a good UX designer.

I corrected my previous review. It’s very important to install correct rubber wheels and noise become less and less need for recalibration. Overall very good product. Always stable connection and works great with Alexa

Requiere un hub que se vende por separado para integrarlo a Alexa, sino sólo se puede usar mediante su app. Es demasiado grande/grueso por lo que debe haber bastante espacio entre la pared y el riel de la cortina para que no se atore.

A lot of step by step setup but it was easy to understand. Needed to adjust things to fit them in my home. Initially a bit worried that the white color device on my black curtain rod would be too noticeable but it seems okay on it.A bit of spending to just open curtains automatically but love it as set times to open and close by itself. Also motorized rods are even more expensive and they are not portable.Still think it would be better to install powered motorized one if do renovation next time for long term as no worry for batteries or solar panels, and clean look.
