TCL D1 Pro Palm Vein Smart Lock Review
This was my first introduction to smart locks, and I’ll admit I was pretty hesitant at first — it sounded like something out of an AI fantasy. I’ve had this lock for almost 10 months now, and it’s been nearly flawless. I live in a very cold climate where temperatures often drop below zero, yet it’s handled the weather with no major issues.Occasionally, I have to “wake up” the lock before using it, but that’s minor. The only real downside was the setup — it can be a bit tricky if you’re not tech-savvy (I needed a little help). But once it’s set up, it works effortlessly. I absolutely love this lock.

Reliable, Advanced & the Least Expensive
Make no mistake! This device supports WiFi connection. So, you can manage it (lock/unlock) distantly without additionally purchasing and installing any gateway. Thus, no additional device, no additional problem! I have two of them installed on my offcie doors for some year now. They are remarkably stable and reliable, stay connected and operate flawlessly. Also, TCL D1 was the least expensive in the market and the most advanced device. So, yes, certainly go for it.

This smart lock does it all!
This lock is a powerhouse. While other brands charge more for fewer features, the TCL D1 gives you everything in one sleek package: fingerprint, palm vein, passcode, key, app unlock, remote control, even two-way calling and live viewing. The palm vein scanner is lightning-fast and flawless, and the adjustable camera lens is crystal clear.Setup was a breeze. Super easy install, no wires, rechargeable battery, plus a backup external charging port. Customizable motion detection and cloud storage options make it even more versatile. Now the downsides…Battery life isn’t the best and once it dips below 50%, you have to keep a close eye on the power levels because it diminishes exponentially faster. I’ve left home with 10% battery and returned a few hours later to find myself locked out because the battery had completely died. I didn’t have my physical key to unlock at the time but fortunately I was able to charge it from the external port using a USB-C cord and battery bank to power it on long enough to unlock and get in. Another con is the live feed takes a few seconds to load. But overall, this is the most complete smart lock I’ve owned and I definitely think that for everything it offers it’s well-worth the purchase. I praise it for being stylish, reliable, and loaded with features you’d pay double for elsewhere. I’d give it a 4.5 star rating if I could.

No More Lost Keys – Love This Lock!
I used to lose my keys a lot, and my wife got very frustrated. So, I decided to buy a keyless door lock.I found the TCL Smart Lock. It was easy to install and works very well. It has a palm vein scanner that is fast and cool.My wife was happy when we got it, and it helped a lot at home—no more losing keys! The lock has a long battery life, locks automatically, and I can control it from my phone or with Alexa. It is also waterproof and bit heavy which speaks about its build quality. Design looks rich.If you want a smart lock, I recommend this one. You will like it!

Save your money or buy a better brand
* Updated to 3 stars. Was able to get customer service to cantact and send a new door lock. If lock lasts this time will update further. Really is a great lock while it worked and love the rechargeable battery!Great lock for the month it works. After the palm reader dies you are stuck with an expensive code only door lock. Just buy something cheaper. Multiple attempts to reach customer service have gone un-answered through Amazon and the TCL support website. I understand products fail, but when the company wont even try to assist in fixing the issue, you just have to assume they know they are selling a terrible product and trying to get what they can out of it for as long as they can…

Durability and Reliability.. Bad product..
Sure! Here’s a concise negative review based on your experience:—**Disappointed – Broke in Less Than a Month**I had high hopes for the TCL D1 Pro Palm Vein Smart Lock, but it completely let me down. Within just a few weeks, the deadbolt got damaged simply from the wind blowing the door shut. For something marketed as durable and smart, it failed miserably. The build quality is clearly poor, and the reliability is awful. Not worth the money—avoid if you want something that lasts. The device does have a sensor, that detects whether the door is closed or open. The dead bolt closes with the door open, so if you re not careful dead bolt gets damaged easily. Wind blew the door closed bending the dead bolt. It wouldn’t closed or open anymore.

Malfunctioned After 8 Months
We installed this lock in January, it began malfunctioning in August, and by September, the palm vein lock—the key feature—stopped working. We attempted to reset the system multiple times, but it no longer recognizes attempts to read palm veins. We were very happy with this lock initially, so it is incredibly disappointing that it lasted less than a year, especially given the price. We would not recommend it.

Worth every penny!
EDIT:I’m back here to say that I could not be happier with the customer service TCL provides. I had purchased my first unit and after a little while the Palm Reader stopped working. I had received an email from their support team and they proactively sent me a replacement to my surprise. It’s rare nowadays that companies truly stand by their products and their reputation and I could not be more impressed.I purchased this new Smart Lock for our new home and it’s incredible. I have 2 teenagers that kept losing their keys and this has made a huge different. Having the palm vein detector was the big differentiator against their competitors. I can be carrying groceries or other things and with a simple hand motion the door unlocks. We also have a house cleaner and just give her a code that’s unique and no more issues. This thing has a lot of cool functions too that you can utilize. The battery lasts for a long time and pulling out the battery to charge is super easy. I have a portable charger that I use and never once had to remove the battery from the door lock making it more convenient.Great device for a very affordable price! you can’t go wrong
