Effortless No-Tool Setup: Simply attach to your existing rod and it’s ready! No drilling, no tools needed. Hang, place the positioning magnets, connect via app. Smart curtain motor setup in 3 steps for any room (bedroom, living room, office, nursery).
2025 Upgrade: Main guide wheel is enlarged, allowing for easy passage over 4mm bumps, with an 8kg load capacity. Combined with positioning magnets, it is more compact and reduces the foreign body sensation. (If your curtains are “2 Panels Curtain”, you will need 2 units.”)
2x Stronger Motor & Precise Control: 2x stronger motor (vs. previous) smoothly moves heavy curtains up to 15kg/33lbs. New positioning magnets ensure accurate control, no calibration, and prevents light gaps. *Note: Not compatible with extendable rods under 5/8″ (16mm) diameter.
Quiet Silent Mode (<25dB): Enjoy peaceful mornings! Activate Silent Mode (<25dB, quieter than a whisper) for ultra-quiet, slower curtain movement. Reduces sleep disturbances and ideal for sound-sensitive users. Energy-saving operation.
Matter & Apple HomeKit Support : Works with Matter (via SwitchBot Hub) for seamless smart home integration. Enjoy Home App control and use with HomePod/Apple Watch. Connect other SwitchBot devices for whole-home automation.

    Gamechanger
Switchbot 2025 Automatic Curtain Opener 3 with RemoteThe curtain opener is a gamechanger. I had no idea I was missing this in my life. It seems like such a small thing, but waking up to the light and not having to manually close up the house to leave is amazing. I have the curtains on a schedule to automatically open in the morning and close in the evening. If I leave the house sooner, I just tell Alexa to close the curtains. And my boyfriend, who can’t be bothered with all the “smart” stuff, just presses the remote button to open/close the curtains (no getting off the couch!). I was also able to set up “scenes”, which are groups of custom actions, so the curtains and blinds (sold separately) will all open/close at once. I do own the Hub 2.There are three modes. The power of Standard Mode moves the curtains quickly. There’s also a QuietDrift Mode that moves very slowly but isn’t audible at all, and finally Silent Mode, which is in between the two. I added a video of QuietDrift Mode to show how truly quiet they can be. I was worried since we have two curtains and a support bar in the middle of the rod that they wouldn’t close fully, but they do.Pros:-Easy setup: Instructions are easy to follow and it’s plug and play to connect to the app and Alexa (or your chosen smart system). Auto calibration automatically sets close and open points. The smart design slides right over the rod.-Multiple open methods: Schedule, remote, or voice (hub required); app; light sensing (solar panel required); or just manually start moving the curtains and they automatically take over.-Charging: A single charge is long lasting, but there’s also an optional solar panel (sold separately). The charging cable is generously long so I didn’t even take them down to charge (although you could just easily unclip it to charge).-Support: There are multiple ways to contact support inclduing email, app, and phone. They are easy to get in touch with and respond quickly. (I contacted them with questions on a different product.)-Trusted Company: Switchbot is well known and recieved in the smart automation space. The device feels well made and built to last.Things to Know:-Multiple Products: You do need the app, remote, hub (sold separately), and solar panel (sold separately) to fully take advantage of all the capabilities. However, you do not need those things for basic functionality. As long as you expect this, you can tailor your experience. I imagine there will be a package deal in the future like they have with their other products.

Great Device to make your home smarter!
This is my fourth Switchbot device that I’ve purchased as I try to make my home ‘smarter’. And for anyone looking to automate their curtains, this device is great. The SwitchBot Curtain 3 truly delivers on ease of installation, which is great for me because I’m not the most tech savvy person although I’m trying to change that. The package includes both a quick setup card for immediate use and a comprehensive user manual for those who want detailed guidance. Additionally, the SwitchBot app features both a video installation guide and a pictorial step-by-step guide, giving you multiple resources to choose from based on your learning preference. I appreciated having all these options – the quick setup card got me up and running fast, while the app’s visual guides provided extra reassurance during the process. The physical installation was very straightforward with no tools required. The device clips securely onto your curtain rod very easily. Calibrating the device was also easy and fast – the app walked me through each step clearly, making the setup process completely foolproof.Connecting the Curtain 3 to the SwitchBot app was completely hassle-free. The device appeared immediately when I opened the app unlike a lot of other devices I’ve connected in the past (no connection issues or lengthy pairing process). The app recognized the device quickly and walked me through the simple calibration steps without any technical problems. One of the standout features of the Curtain 3 is its quiet operation. The motor runs smoothly without the loud grinding or clicking sounds you might expect from an automated curtain system. It’s not completely silent because there is still a motor, but the noise level is minimalFor anyone looking to automate their curtains without dealing with complex setup procedures or disruptive noise, this device delivers exactly what it promises and reinforces why SwitchBot has earned my loyalty as a customer.

    Didn’t Think I Needed This… Now I Love It
I wasn’t sure if this curtain opener was going to be worth upgrading from my current Curtain Rod 2, but after hooking it up with my SwitchBot Hub 2, I’m honestly impressed. Setup was quick—clipped it onto the rod, added the little magnets, and had it running in about five minutes. The motor is strong enough to handle my heavy blackout curtains without a problem, and it moves really smoothly. The QuietDrift mode is great—it barely makes a sound, so I can have the curtains open in the morning without waking anyone.I also added the solar panel, which keeps the battery topped up. Haven’t had to plug it in once since I set it up.With the Hub 2, I’ve got it tied into my routines so the curtains open when I wake up and close at night. It feels pretty fancy not having to touch them anymore.Only thing I’d say is make sure your curtain rod is the right size. Mine worked fine, but I could see that being an issue for some people.Overall, this has been one of those “didn’t realize how much of an upgrade this would be until I tried it” purchases. Super easy to set up, works reliably, and honestly makes daily life a little smoother.

    Love these!
These curtain openers work great. I have them on double curtains, but can also control each side individually through the app. The directions need major work. They have the main instruction page and then more in-depth instruction on several other small pieces of paper and videos. You need to reference them all in order to get set up. Why not put them all in the same booklet and then have your video. I almost gave up because it was unclear that the arm stretched to accommodate larger rods.

Game Changer for My Curtains!I recently installed the SwitchBot Curtain 3 (Rod version), and I’m absolutely impressed! The setup was quick and straightforward — within minutes, my curtains were moving smoothly with just a tap on my phone. The device is sleek and blends seamlessly with my curtain rod, without looking bulky or out of place. The motor is quiet yet powerful, easily handling my heavy curtains. I love that I can schedule them to open in the morning and close at night automatically. The app works flawlessly, and integration with smart assistants makes it even more convenient. One of my favorite things is the smooth movement — it feels like a luxury upgrade without the huge cost of motorized curtain systems. If you’re looking for a smart home upgrade, this is worth every penny!

I’ve been using the SwitchBot Curtain 3 (Rod version) for a few weeks now and I’m really impressed. The installation was super easy, especially with the clear visual instructions in the app. Everything is well guided, step by step. What I really like is the Matter compatibility. In my case, I integrated it with Apple HomeKit, and it works flawlessly. The device responds quickly, and I’ve added it to several automations. I’ve set it to open automatically based on my sleep schedule, and I love the slow, quiet opening mode — it’s a great way to wake up gently with natural light. The 8-month battery life is already impressive for a motorized device, and with the optional solar panel, you can pretty much set it and forget it.The only thing I would mention is that, in setups like mine where curtains open from both sides of the window, it’s best to get two units — one for each side. It’s not a flaw in the product, just something to plan for depending on your curtain configuration. All in all, this is a smart, well-designed product that fits perfectly into my connected home. I highly recommend it.

I’ve been using the SwitchBot Curtain 3 for a while now, and it’s honestly a huge upgrade. Setup was straightforward — the app install took no time, and pairing it with Google Home was seamless. Matter support works great; I’ve got it tied into a few automations, and the quiet/slow mode makes waking up a lot less harsh. The motor is impressively quiet but still strong enough to handle thicker curtains. Battery life is supposed to last around eight months! One tip — if your curtains open from the center, make sure to grab two units (one for each side). That’s not really a flaw, just something to plan for. Overall, the hardware feels premium, the app is clean and stable, and performance has been great so far. Definitely one of those smart home upgrades that works — highly recommend.

It finally automated the morning wakeup routine. The sun now hits my eye balls as soon as sunrise happens allowing me to have a natural wake up without the need for caffeine and artificial sounds. The roller is dead quiet when it’s gliding across the curtain rod, leaving behind nothing but the ASMR sounds of silver curtain rings dragging on the surface of a powder coated steel pole. It really soothes the soul in the morning. The battery is basically eternal. It runs twice a day, opening the curtains for the sunrise and closing the curtains for sunset. Has half a year lifespan according to the documentation so time will tell. All in all, a nice addition to home automation, integrates with a hub, and home assistant which makes it work flawlessly with all routines

Very high quality product ; good packaging, good instructions, well-made extras widgets for different type of rod curtain attachment (you can see them in Switch-bot installation videos). The Curtain 3 device feels solid and sturdy. It is heavy, so, you may need to add a support in the middle of your rod if it is already caving down. I made a video with a 5 kg weight on an 8 feet rod and an eyelet that creates more friction than a normal curtain eyelet would. Also, note that a curtain’s weight is spread over many eyelets, not just one. I was surprise that the device could move the 5 kg without any issue (I didn’t expect that). The little magnet (discrete) provided is very good for high precision closing, I did some test without the magnets, and it worked but not as nicely, I’ll recommend installing the magnets.I have no doubts that these curtain openers will work on my heavy thermal insulated curtains at my winter cottage.Having 3 configurable speeds is really a plus for me, not too noisy at high speed and extremely quiet at the lowest speed.Note, that it doesn’t come with a power adapter to recharge the battery, not a real problem these days with all the electronic USB gadget we already have!
