You absolutely need this SSD ! Small and compact
I recently purchased the SanDisk 2TB external portable SSD, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with the performance. As someone who deals with a lot of large video files, photos, and heavy documents for both personal and professional use, having a reliable, fast, and compact drive is essential and this one delivers on every level.First off, the speed is incredible. Transferring hundreds of gigabytes of data takes a fraction of the time compared to my old hard drive. Whether I’m editing videos directly from the SSD or backing up entire folders, the read/write performance is smooth and consistent. It feels like an extension of my laptop rather than an external device. I’ve used it with both Mac and Windows machines and had zero compatibility issues. The size and portability are major advantages too. It’s so small and lightweight that I can just toss it in my backpack, purse, or even my pocket. The build quality is solid it has a sleek, rubberized texture that makes it feel secure in the hand and adds an extra layer of durability. I haven’t dropped it (yet!), but it definitely feels like it could survive a few bumps along the way.Another thing I love is how quiet and cool it runs. Unlike traditional external hard drives, there’s no sound, no vibration, and it doesn’t heat up even after long usage sessions. It’s also USB-C compatible, which is perfect for my current devices, and comes with both USB-C to USB-C and USB-C to USB-A cables in the box, which is a thoughtful touch.I’ve already recommended this SSD to friends and colleagues who need a fast, reliable, and portable storage solution. It’s not the cheapest option out there, but you’re definitely paying for quality, performance, and peace of mind especially if your data is valuable or irreplaceable. I’ll likely buy another one soon just to keep separate backups. Highly recommended.

The best external hard drive I’ve ever used.
My old PC had the regular non SSD 4TB hard drive. It was a top of the line unit when I bought it, made for gaming, extremely fast refresh rate, etc… I would have had to replace the motherboard when Windows 10 will no longer be supported. My wife uses this computer and wanted a new one. I knew that I would get a new PC with a SSD (which is what my laptop has) and I knew that the SSD has no lag time from startup to opening up a webpage. So I wanted an external hard drive that would match the speed of the new PC and this little 4TB SSD external hard drive did not disappoint. It took about 7 hours to transfer my data from my old PC to the SSD external drive (previously it took about 24 hours). When I transferred my data to the new PC with this SSD it only took about an hour and a half. That was well over 1TB. Wow. I am impressed with the transfer speed. It works flawlessly, makes absolutely no noise, writes at lightning speed, takes up very little space, and is just awesome overall. I recommend this drive to anyone that has a lot of data to transfer and very little time to do it.

    Fast, compact, and worth it
I personally really like this SSD. It’s small and portable, easy to carry around, and the design looks sleek. The speed is excellent, making file transfers quick and smooth.I also got a protective case for it, which can be clipped to a backpack or purse — making it always visible and easy to access. Just a small tip: if you’re in a place with lots of pickpockets, it’s safer to keep it inside the bag rather than hanging outside. For me, it’s absolutely worth it — a reliable drive with plenty of storage that I can count on every day.

The SSD Brand I trust. Akai MPC Approved!
This drive is perfect not sure what’s going on with other users but this is my 3rd drive. I’ve had this for 2 years no issues. It’s fast enough, quite plug and play with exFat. I use these with my Akai MPCs. Never had an Issue. One thing to note is when these or any SSD starts to get full the speed will drop when of transfering multiple files. Just bought a 2TB. That’s rock solid too. As for size and the drive being under the stated amount of space. Every Hard Drive is like this. Regardless of type. SanDisk is a brand I trust. I’ve tried other SSDs and always come back to SanDisk. Space and Storage Capacity is as advertised. Noise level is non existent. 5/5 stars.

    Perfect for frequent travelers
I just bought 2 of these 4 TB SSDs so I could travel with my movies and shows when I travel for work. Often, the internet in hotels is too slow for streaming, or they charge a hefty fee for high-speed connections. They work great on my computers, and I was even able to use them to watch Yellowstone on my phone during my flight home on Friday. My only complaint is that the included cable doesn’t work well with my phone’s case due to the cable’s chunky shape. I had to hold it in the entire flight or it would disconnect. That’s not a big deal, though. I didn’t buy them for the cables, and I’ll just pick up a couple of longer and slimmer ones. They’re perfect for travel. I was surprised how small and lightweight they are. I also love that they are drop and water-resistant, and the outer surface is rubbery. They feel sturdy enough that they would probably be fine in my backpack, but I bought a small case that holds them and the cables for organization and to be safe. The case was like $12 and adds another layer of protection.

I am very late in writing the review, as I have been using it for more than three years and it works smoothly and excellently.

What an amazing little device.Small, light, compact and portable.I had high expectations; and they were exceeded. I really really like the cable that comes with it; that helped bridge the ScanDisk from my old MacBook Air that didn’t have a USB C drive to my new one. I constantly needed documents and files off my old MacBook to my new one and having the specially designed cable really helped out. It’s a shame the cable doesn’t come with the newer version of the ScanDisk. Nonetheless, I was able to partition the disk from external storage and TimeCapsule backup. 1T for both and I have to say it works seamlessly. I was even able to add an icon of the actual image for my desktop. Thanks for such an amazing product.
