Great upgrade for the dollar on older laptops
Excellent way to upgrade/refurb/repurpose old computers on the cheap. This is now 3rd 256GB SSD from this manufacturer and they’ve been great for the money. Updating to SSD has allowed me to keep 11+ year old computers usable in shop environments.Speed is great. Great install on the older Lenovo units (E540/E550) to reduce lag and keep productive performance, functionality, and durability on Win 10 Pro utilizing modern diagnostic SW.2.5in SATA direct plug and play. Storage is great GB/$$.
Price and performance
I bought 3 of these to upgrade my computers and a friends and to upgrade one computer to Windows 11. Shopping is always great at Amazon. The drives arrived next day. All the drives have been installed and performance, speed is fantastic. No issues to complete process of Windows 10 and 11 installations. These installs were on older Dell, Lenovo and HP. I will follow up if I ever have issues with these drives.
New life in an old PC
I bought two of these to breath new life into friends old computers. They are both fast and have more than enough storage for their needs. They fit perfect and both people that bought them seem very happy. With how cheap SSDs have become, it is silly not to replace your old hard drive. And for most users, it will make your old computer good enough for your everyday tasks.

Upgrade your old machine!
I love that SSDs have gotten so reasonably priced. I had an old 2011 MacBook collecting dust so I replaced the old spinning hard drive With this one in addition to 16GB of RAM and now I’ve got a viable machine again…after ditching the out dated Mac OS with Ubuntu. Works great as a YouTube machine or for office type tasks. Runs snappy and boots up quick with the new Drive and RAM. Very economical and effective upgrade !

Fantastic upgrade for my elderly father-in-law’s home computer.He has no interest in getting a new PC as his old AMD AM3-based computer is still capable of handling all of the tasks he needs to do. But it was becoming more and more slow as Windows 10 evolved over time, and by the time I stepped in to check it out, the ancient Toshiba hard disk drive had reached a point where, while it still reported no bad sectors, it was extremely slow in booting and loading software, indicating that the head control mechanism was nearing a point of failure in track selection.Using the free CloneZilla software you can download, it took around an hour to transfer all partitions and files to the Patriot drive, and another hour to verify every file checksum.On reboot with the Patriot P220 as the boot drive and the Toshiba disconnected from the motherboard, the difference was immediate. A 90 second boot time to desktop dropped to 16 seconds, and programs populate almost instantly when started. Windows 10 did ask for verification, as I also doubled his memory form 8MB to 16MB, but it verified immediately, no call required.He is extremely pleased, as he generally uses the computer as a Zoom webcam call machine, and for email, while he has a new Asus laptop with Windows 11 that has the bulk of his work for the US Army Family Readiness Group volunteer service, and his work with his church in Armed Services Spiritual Support. Between the two, he is now 100% in his needs.As he is generally operating on-line, the 512GB capacity is more than enough, and will provide until he retires the machine in a couple years. The drive is significantly cooler than the Toshiba, and in-case heat levels dropped several degrees per the CPU thermistor.His only concern is that the familiar clatter of drive heads he has been listening to for 30 years is completely absent, and he misses the noises indicating program loading, but it will just take a while for him to get used to it.Excellent choice for a simple refresh of old hardware. Ideally, SATA3 would get you the best performance, but as the standard is backwards compatible even saturating a SATA1 port would still well outperform any mechanical hard disk as there is no seek time, and data will push the interface to the limit regardless of the motherboard’s controller. If you support older computer hardware like I do, Patriot is my go-to for lower capacity SATA drives, as I have yet had one fail. Even my Linux server boots from a tiny Patriot SATA SSD I purchased almost 8 years ago, just big enough to load the SAS controller and 12 Serial-Attached-SCSI hard disks.No reason to buy more expensive brands on SATA SSDs anymore. Patriot will do the job without issue.

This SSD is DRam SSD … inbuilt ram….don’t go for Dramless SSD ….this product is amazing and useful for those who want a faster laptop…I recommend everyone only use this SSD … affordable,brand , quality and useful.install and enjoy and pray for my sucess.♥️..I also thanks amazon for having such best and affordable products..
