Great locking system.
I quite like this lock. I wish it was like Kwikset smart lock. I love Hornbill the ease to sent passcodes, emery’s & cards.I was having a little difficulty is getting it to program. Thankfully this company unlike so many has excellent customer service. Over the phone was unable to assist so she escalated my call. They reached out on time. We FaceTime and got it working quite quickly. Thank you Lina!

Conflict with deadbolt
This lock looks and feels very high quality. Unfortunately, I had to return it because it hit my existing deadbolt and couldn’t be installed. I had already drilled the extra mounting hole so now I need to patch it. I also wanted to install a different key cylinder, but there were no directions on how to accomplish that task, and I didn’t want to disassemble the entire lock to do so. I was a little surprised that the faceplate on the door latch bolt as well as the strike plate, were satin nickel with a black lockset. Normally these two items would match the lockset finish. This was the only issue of poor quality I saw, but it may not be a big deal to most people and it does not affect functionality at all. I’m bummed I couldn’t use this lockset because it has great reviews and was a good value.

Beautiful – Easy to Use.
I did have a lot of issues installing it… the directions are extremely tiny and not as clear as they should be. Had there been better directions, I feel like this would have been a 5 Star Slam Dunk. I did have to buy a new strike plate – the one that came with it would not allow the door to shut without turning the handle because it didn’t curve around the jam.Once setup I did love it. I love that it has 4 different ways to unlock it, backups are always a great thing. I’m using this lock on an airbnb. The app Next Lock is easy to use and so many options to generate a code.I did later order the G2 Gateway so that I could control the lock remotely.Looks High End and Amazing. I will buy this lock again.

This was perfect for my shop!
I really enjoy how well this product functions especially for my business !! If I ever have a change of employees it’s great not having to change the locks. I can just delete their passcode and move on!! I love the key tags to unlock the doors.. make it super convenient when your hands are to full to use finger print or passcode entry !! This is a great buy with tons of value ! Did I mention customer service is 5 star as well!!

We purchased two of these units for both doors but only got around to installing one. The one we installed is in a covered porch but directly exposed to the outdoors. As one would expect in this area (Eastern Canada) we get wind, rain, snow etc throughout the year which can make it to the door. In this case the door stopped working after a particularly strong wind/rain storm and started giving an error of low battery. Thinking nothing of it the batteries were replaced and the terminals inspected to make sure nothing was “leaking” etc. to be of concern as can happen with batteries. The error continued and the device drained the batteries within 10-15 minutes and started repeating the low battery warning. As you can imagine, we tried a different set of batteries and no luck same behaviour. Contacted support. They gave me instructions how to reset the system and no luck there. (Reasonable time frame from support. they tried to help)I decided to do a teardown on the device and started taking it apart to find out where the failure occurred. It was quickly clear that there was water intrusion behind the seal that was on the unit. Rust had developed on the posts and discoloration on the foam. What I wasn’t expecting was when I started stripping it down further there was corrosion on the control board. This is where the overall failure is of this products design. It is not sealed in any way to water intrusion. There are no gaskets around the fingerprint sensor and no seal around the edge plate separating the body from the back. The foam gasket does little to stop water penetration as it doesn’t cover these areas.If you are using this between a storm door and an interior door it is a great product. If it is exposed to the elements try something else. This will not last! it still works with a key so at least there is that though it is expensive for a key lock.

The lock works and functions pretty smoothly and is simple to use. Though my first lock had a very finicky touch pad, and 6 months into owning it, the latch mechanism started separating and prevented usage of the door even when unlocked. I was able to pry the latch open with a couple of screwdrivers and find out how the malfunction happened. Then the unit refused to power on afterwards. However, Tara from customer service was very quick to respond and get to the bottom of the issue, and sent me a replacement lock. It was good value for the money.
