Palm vein technology is next generation of biometric authentication method that uses infared sensor to detect the unique patterns of veins in a person’s palm to verify their identity. It has shown great advantage over fingerprint on speed, accuracy and security.
Contactless Palm Vein Recognition — Wyze Palm Lock uses a highly secure biometric technology that reads the unique vein pattern beneath your palm. Simply hover your hand to unlock—no touch needed. Faster and more reliable than fingerprints.
Dual-Battery System with Emergency Charging — A 6-month main battery is backed by a 2-week secondary battery. If both drain, use the integrated USB-C port and any power bank for an emergency charge—ensuring you’re never locked out.
Peace of Mind with Auto Lock — A built-in gyroscope detects the angle and movement of the door in real time. Once it senses the door has closed then it automatically locks, preventing false or jammed locks.
Secure & Shareable Access Codes — Create up to 50 unique or one-time guest codes on the illuminated keypad. Our Anti-Peep Technology keeps every code secure, allowing you to add extra digits before or after your real PIN to prevent snooping.
Smart Battery Saver — Wyze Palm Lock is equipped with millimeter wave radar, the same used in self-driving cars. It scans for the presence of a person (not just movement) and only “wakes up” the lock when a person is detected.
Voice & Visual Control — Lock or unlock your door with simple voice commands via Alexa or Google Assistant, or directly from the live feed of your Wyze Video Doorbell for a seamless smart home experience.
Control from Anywhere with Wi-Fi — Control and monitor the lock status from anywhere, anytime. Customize lock notifications in the Wyze app.
Mechanical Lock and Key Option — Still yearning for the comfort of a traditional key? We got you covered. Simply slide down the damping cover and manually unlock the old-fashioned way (set of keys included).
Tamper and Ajar Alarms — Wyze Palm Lock speaks up and sounds an alarm if it detects tampering from excessive incorrect unlock attempts. It’ll also chirp if you accidentally leave the door open (customizable in the Wyze app).
IP53 weather-resistant and BHMA3 Certified — Rain or shine, Wyze Palm Lock is built to last with IP53-rated weather resistance. Security that stands up to the elements. It’s not just smart, it’s strong.

Best Wyze product I ever purchased.
I have been a big fan of Wyze for several years now and this is easily the best product I have ever gotten. Granted it is big on the interior side of the lock and may not fit if you have a dead lock close to your main lock. I had the Wyze lock with the gateway and keypad accessories as I wanted a smart lock that I can still use in extremely rare situations that could occur. However, I disliked that I had to have the keypad separate from the lock. This lock is truly everything I could possibly want as you have a main battery that lasts for approximately 6 months and an emergency 2 week backup battery. A nice feature is how both batteries are rechargeable so you don’t have to buy batteries. The flexibility of access codes and sharing with other people. You have so many ways to get in palm scan (my favorite), digit code, app feature, key, and through Alexa/google devices should you wish to connect through them. After a little over a month after installing it I am extremely satisfied with this lock. But while it is easy to install with simple directions, I do recommend having a second person to help keep it in place better.

The best smart lock I ever had
My view. This is the best smart lock , I have ever had. I did have August and Schlage before. The ease of installation and the features are outstanding and sometimes unbelievable.1. The palm vein method, which I thought was just a gimmick ( and bought this lock mainly for the touch keypad) really works very well2. The auto lock feature that works only when the door is physically shut is a blessing to avoid the dead lock banging against the frame. Specially with little children around3. The warning when door is not closed, great4.the battery system , the best. Rechargeable batteries, with spare takes you through to another week is beyond compare.5. There are many other features, I do not use but the best, let me tell you battery has dropped only 10% in a month.6. I am not sponsored or gifted by the company to speak like this, these are truly my own experiences with the lock and I’d recommend this lock to everyone.

A Smart Lock That Feels Like Sci-Fi—Almost
I didn’t expect a door lock to feel this personal. The Wyze Palm Lock has quietly become part of my daily rhythm—no keys, no codes, just a moment of recognition. The palm vein recognition feels futuristic—like something out of a sci-fi movie—and it works surprisingly well. It works beautifully, even in low light, and it feels like a gesture of trust every time I walk through the door.Setup was intuitive, and the integration with Alexa fits seamlessly into my smart routines. The auto-lock feature gives peace of mind, and the dual battery system is a thoughtful safeguard. I also appreciate the mechanical key backup, though I haven’t needed it once. This isn’t just a smart lock—it’s a ritual. It turns coming home into something quiet, secure, and almost poetic. If you’re building a home that feels like an extension of your values, this lock belongs in it.

Easy to use.
Absolutely love this. No more fumbling with keys. Husband and I ALWAYS forget something in the house and have to go back in, no more shutting off car for the keys or digging through purse for spare key. I set it to lock automatically at 10pm so no more waking up to an unlocked house. The key itself can’t be rekeyed BUT it is a Schlage key so we picked up 3 Schlage locks from Home Depot and had those rekeyed to the palm lock keys so all our home locks have all the same keys. We have absolutely no complaints about this palm lock at all. It has everything I wanted, touch less entry, a keypad if needed, a key if needed, or you could use your app to lock or unlock and even you could use a usb port but I have no clue how to work that. I’m technically challenged. But we are thrilled with this lock.

battery issues with screen doors
Pros:1) Install / app setup / initial palm scanning all straightforward and worked without a hitch.2) unlocks quickly, not instant, but probably faster than the thumb print deadbolt I was using previously.3) If you have toddlers this is great, I set up 3 kids under 6 and they were all successfully able to unlock the door on their own, previously had a keypad thumbprint lock and only the oldest could use, so that’s pretty cool and they were thrilled.ConsThe battery drained overnight, despite all the pros may have to return this. I just installed this yesterday afternoon so will update if things change. I fully charged the main battery before install, there is also a backup battery, but its not chargeable on its own, it must be a parasitic draw on the main battery for the first charge, which may be a factor. I noticed by about 8pm after I had scanned the family and everyone had fun testing it out the battery was down to about 68%. I figured it was probably due to the backup charging and possibly the setup initial palm scanning, but woke up to it totally drained. There are 3 battery modes, auto – lock wakes up when within 2-3 feet, battery saver – lock wakes up when with 5-10 inches, and extreme power saver – must tap display to wake up. It was initially in auto, will try today in battery saver and see if that makes a difference. One thing to note is that this door does have a screen door in front of it, guessing the lock kept itself awake because the screen door was in proximity, so unlikely the battery saver mode will help. Going to the extreme saver mode where you have to tap to wake up would result in losing out on the coolest feature, just walking up and waving palm to unlock, if have to tap then wave thumbprint would probably be faster, we’ll see.update 9/22/25 – adding a star, charged up the battery (which took about 5 hours) and changed setting to battery saver on Friday. By Saturday morning battery read 85% and has stayed there through to today, Monday. This might have solved the problem, will update in a month or so. The battery takes so long to charge that I wouldn’t want to do it more than once every couple months, so still keeping an eye on the return window.Update 9/28: drained again, weird this time as I was monitoring reported battery during the week which stayed at around 85%, then just drained overnight again. Not sure about this product, love the features but battery life isn’t sufficient.
