The Ultimea A40 7.1 Surround Sound System: A Symphony of Immersion on a New Stage.
In a world increasingly demanding cinematic experiences within the comfort of our homes, the Ultimea A40 7.1 Surround Sound System emerges not just as an option, but as a compelling argument for elevated audio without an exorbitant price tag. Having had the distinct pleasure of immersing myself in its capabilities, I can confidently state that the A40 redefines what’s possible for budget-conscious audiophiles and casual listeners alike, delivering a soundstage that genuinely thrills and captivates. From the moment you unbox the Ultimea A40, a sense of thoughtful design and practicality is evident. The main soundbar, while compact, possesses a robust feel, hinting at the power contained within. The true magic, however, lies in the four dedicated surround speakers – two wired for the front and two for the rear – and the substantial 4-inch wired subwoofer. This thoughtful 7.1 channel configuration, bolstered by Ultimea’s proprietary SurroundX technology, is the bedrock of its immersive prowess. Setup is remarkably intuitive, a testament to Ultimea’s user-centric approach, making the transition from unboxing to full audio immersion a remarkably swift and satisfying journey. But let’s talk about the sound – the very heart of any audio system, and where the Ultimea A40 truly shines. My testing spanned a diverse range of content, from action-packed blockbusters to intimate dramas and intricate musical compositions, and the A40 consistently delivered a performance that belies its accessible price point. The Pillars of Performance:* Vibrant Detail and Crystal Clarity: Dialogue, often a weak point for many soundbars, is rendered with exceptional clarity. Every whisper, every inflection, comes through with pristine articulation, ensuring you never miss a crucial line in your favorite film. This extends to music as well; instruments are distinctly separated, and vocal performances are delivered with a nuanced precision that brings recordings to life. The 10-band equalizer settings and 121 preset EQ matrices, easily accessible via the intuitive Ultimea Smart App, allow for an unparalleled level of customization. Whether you prefer a rich, warm tone for jazz or a crisp, dynamic profile for gaming, the A40 adapts with remarkable finesse.* Immersive Surround Sound That Envelops: The 7.1 virtual surround sound, powered by those dedicated surround speakers and SurroundX technology, creates a truly expansive sound field. During intense action sequences, the feeling of explosions reverberating from behind, or projectiles whizzing past your ears, is genuinely thrilling. The spatial accuracy is impressive, placing you squarely in the center of the action. This isn’t just simulated surround; it’s a meticulously crafted auditory environment that transforms your living room into a private cinema. The ability to adjust surround levels with 13 adjustable levels further refines this experience, allowing you to tailor the intensity to your room’s acoustics and personal preference.* Deep, Impactful Bass with Authority: The wired 4-inch subwoofer, enhanced by BassMX technology, delivers a surprising amount of punch and depth. Explosions hit with satisfying rumble, musical bass lines are full and resonant, and the overall low-end presence adds a tangible weight to the audio. It’s a tight, controlled bass that complements the overall sound signature rather than overpowering it, ensuring a balanced and engaging listening experience across all genres.* Versatility and Control at Your Fingertips: Beyond its stellar audio performance, the Ultimea A40 offers a compelling suite of features that enhance its usability. Bluetooth 5.3 ensures seamless wireless streaming from your devices, and the dedicated Ultimea Smart App provides comprehensive control over every aspect of the sound. From switching between EQ modes (Movie, Music, Voice, Sport, Game, Night) to fine-tuning individual frequencies, the app transforms your smartphone into a powerful audio command center. This level of granular control is rarely seen in this price category and allows for truly personalized audio. While some higher-end systems might offer a slightly more refined top-end or an even larger soundstage, it’s crucial to consider the significant price disparity. The Ultimea A40’s strength lies in its ability to deliver an astonishingly rich and immersive 7.1 surround sound experience at a fraction of the cost. It’s a system that punches well above its weight, providing a genuine “wow” factor for movies, music, and gaming. In conclusion, the Ultimea A40 7.1 Surround Sound System is a triumph of accessible home audio. It’s not just a soundbar; it’s an invitation to rediscover your favorite entertainment with newfound clarity, detail, and breathtaking immersion. If you’re seeking to transform your home entertainment without breaking the bank, and yearn for an audio experience that truly makes content “sing,” then the Ultimea A40 is not merely a strong contender, but a resounding champion. It’s the kind of audio upgrade that leaves a lasting impression, and for this competition, I believe its performance speaks volumes.

Small things can pack a lot of punch.
My old Panasonic Surround Sound System died the other day. I’m not an audiophile any more (too old – 76 and less fequency response in the ears). I needed a system to be loud enough for me to hear the remote speaker when I am working on my computer (It is about 25 ft away from the TV). I was ALMOST sorry that I bought it when I first set it up. I had NO audio and I knew everything was connected up properly. I finally downloaded the manual so I could blow up the text to read it. I was feeding the TV optical output to the Ultimea and had the TV setup to feed the Ultimea. After a few minutes of thumbing through the manual, I came across the page about “No Sound”. They said to set the audio to PCM (Pulse Code Modul;ation) instead of Dolby. The instant that I did that, the sound came booming out. I am very satisfied now. The setup is very easy and straight forward. I haven’t fiddled with the various features and functionality of the system yet. Considering the fact that I bought a MUCH more expensive sound bar for my wife’s TV and it does not perform as well as this. This is an excellent value for the price I paid. The speakers are rather small but they seem to pack a lot of power.Would I buy this again? MOST definitely.

    Great
Packs a punch and sounds great. Rear speakers are a bit quiet but other than that it’s pretty decent for an affordable unit. Cord length is great. The quality of the plastic housings look and feel decent. Easy and quick Bluetooth connection. The functionality of the speaker is easy and the app is great.

    Compact sound buster!
Very quick for shipping. Great little set up and easy to do set up too. Wires are perfect length for the room they recommend. Ive got a little hut of my own and these things have it rocking!I got it out of the package, laid it out in front of me and easily put together with little tab markers for all the ports (very user friendly), after that plugged two outlets in and turned it on. Gave it a second and connected my phone so quick. Volume can get very loud and if you use the app you have so many features. It can also be very quiet for study too, great for students. The small speakers fit at any edge of any table, very compact sound bar and sub. Great job ULTIMEA.

This is one of the most dishonest products ever. Garbage at any price.
I had a surprising experience with Creative Pebble. Purchased as cheap speakers for a monitor that has no audio, they turned out to be excellent for $50. Thus I thought this wasn’t too good to be true, alas it is significantly worse that Creative at twice the price.1. The speakers are so tiny they have drivers smaller than over the ear headsets, they are literally inaudible two feet away. All the sounds comes from the center BT speaker / amp and it’s little subwoofer.2. Compare the speakers in the photo to my PC speakers and my retired home theater speaker.3. Claims to be 7.1 surround, yet accepts only Stereo input regardless of your connection method.4. The AMP is extremely weak, incapable of amplifying proper audio connection via TosLink / Analog to acceptable volume, it is 1/2 as loud compared to BT connection.5. This Bluetooth volume boost comes from the system faking it’s identify as a headset, rather than reporting itself as as a speaker, thus your audio system amplifies the signal. Ruining the quality but raising the volume.6. The speakers in the rear connect to the system via Bluetooth, which interferes with the BT connection to the system itself and drops audio. I had to install a 10 inch external antenna on my system to have a consistent signal. This isn’t a quality product, if you like the price get Pebbles or something from a proper brand. This was bought to use in my office not for home theater / gaming. But it’s awful even at this light use case. They are simply hoping that people have no frame of reference to compare with other systems and figure out how bad this really is.

So I bought this for the spare room/gym, ended up taking it into the the main tv room and putting my 2.1 soundbar in there instead. Its a very neat bit of kit, not flimsy. It was easy to put together and considering its a budget unit the sound is quite impressive. Now if your idea of a subwoofer is a seismic event then this isn’t for you, there’s more than enough bass there to let you know a bomb’s just gone off, or to ” get the party started” if you’re listeing to music but it won’t peel the paper off the walls. Similarly with “surround”, it’s more like 2.1 with extra speakers than a pro logic unit we’ve come to understand over the years. The remote control is intuitive, one button per input; optical, bluetooth usb aux. It has A basic 3 band graphic eq and mode selectors for movie music voice game and night mode which cuts vol by half. There’s a separate vol adjust for the surround speakers too which is handy. The same functionality is on the downloadable app but tbh I wouldn’t bother with that. The surround speakers pair with the main unit themselves so no drama there but they do require a power outlet, this might cause an issue if you haven’t got a socket down the other end of your room. The surround function is clearer on the optic connection than on bluetooth. The subwoofer is passive, it has no separate vol etc.All in all I’m happy with it, don’t expect total immersion in a 3d soundscape but do expect enhanced clear audio for movies streaming etc without bleeding ears. A budget unit that works well.

This is a great compact, well priced sound system. I have over a number of years tried to find a balance for the sound that I have used with my TV. I have used stand alone sound bars with sub woofers, a large full sound system set up and higher end smart speakers with sub woofer set up.For me trying to find the balance between what is really needed in terms of the actual power that I am going to use and wanting a setup where the speakers do not dominate the room, whilst wanting good clear sound with a fair degree of bass, a good surround sound and very clear dialogue (this is very important to me). This offers a great balance. The surround speakers are small, the subwoofer compact and the soundbar itself is extremely well sized. Given this the sound it produces is full, with a good rich base, the dialogue is extremely clear, the surround sound works very well and you can increase the effect. You can connect the soundbar through a number of ways though I focused on optical cable (for the surround sound) and bluettoth (for my phoen and other devices)I have been listening to this now for nearly 3 weeks as my main TV sound system. Up until then I have been using a very good recent large soundbar and subwoofer. I was planning to move this and use with my projector in the main bedroom but I have found myself extremely reluctant as I have really enjoyed using this as the main system. The set up is really straight forward with power only needed for the soundbar and the back speakers. Power is supplied to the other speakers from those connections and front to back sound connection is wireless. The remote offers a deep range of functions and the APP itself is useful though much more limited in what it can do.It also has simple presets for gaming, watching films, sports, listening to music, a focus on the voice and a night mode. There are lots of other options as well. For the price this is an excellent setup that offers more than enough sound for the average lounge without the speakers dominating the room. I like it a lot.
