Very comfortable and unique watch.
This is the fourth My Play Watch I’ve been given the opportunity to review. I’ll compare this Tetris edition to my Atari 2600 watch and Space Invaders watches, but you’ll have to check out my other reviews for in depth specifics about each edition.So far, this is my favorite watch out of everything I’ve recieved from My Play Watch. It seems like they’re hitting their stride now and polishing up some rough edges the previous editions had. As with the Space Invaders varients, the case is made out of metal and glass. The band is a very nice silicone. Overall it’s extremely comfortable to wear all day. I found the touch screen to be more responsive than the other ones I’ve tried. Even with my large fingers, I was able to use the calculator with it’s tiny “buttons” easily. This will track a few biometrics, such as heart rate and steps. You can set a “step goal” and even adjust stride to customise the step tracker to your personal body movements. This is the first My Play Watch to feature this big improvement. It will make the step counter more accurate. The screen is easy to navigate through the various apps and controls. Last but not least, the game is the main selling point here. I found it to be very true to the original and plenty fun & easy to play while wearing the watch. Probably the biggest improvement this Tetrtis edition holds over the previous watches offered by this company is the fact that it will still keep time when powered down. It was extremely annoying that I always had to re-set the date & time on my Atari and Space Invaders watches every time I powered down the OS. With this one, I can just turn it off when I go to bed and turn it back on in the morning. This also helps with battery life, since I’m not constantly leaving it on, even when I’m not wearing it. I also appreciate the fact that the price has stayed consistent throughout the entire lineup. I’m very pleased with this Tetris edition. It’s definitely the best one yet. I can’t wait to see what’s next. I’d love to see some NES or Sega watches come out. Hint hint… Giving it a solid 5 stars!

Good but a home run would be having phone connectivity for notifications!
I’ve always loved Tetris, and now I can play it anytime, anywhere – right from my wrist. The Tetris®: My Play Watch is a compact, touchscreen smartwatch that’s optimized for seamless gameplay. It’s a non-connected device, so no distractions – just pure Tetris fun.The retro-inspired design is a nice touch, and the custom crown adds a unique flair. The watch is comfortable to wear and easy to navigate, making it perfect for quick gaming sessions on the go. There are two bands, white and black, I ended up choosing white. The watch looks sturdy, although I’m sure the screen is just plastic.I wish it had functions for connecting to your phone for notifications. I get that this is geared towards kids, not adults who love retrogaming, but… A man can wish. Battery life is ok, 3-4 days of normal use, less if you play a lot of tetris.Controls are where this watch is my favorite. The touch controls work well and make it a lot easier to play the game than the space invaders watch I also have.

a few minor issues but a very solid watch!
I preordered this watch almost a month ago, and got it exactly on release date (October 24th).My initial experience has been mediocre. It came completely dead, and charged to full in 20 minutes. I setup is easy and I got to using it right away. I used it for 15 minutes and it’s already down to 50% battery. Hopefully I haven’t charged it enough, but I’ll update if it gets better. My second complaint is the crown has a blue coating on it, almost like paint. It doesn’t peel off, and I’ve had to pick at it to get it off.The watch itself feels really good, the shell is nice and solid. The screen is bright and responsive, and the charger adheres nicely. The band feel good, and have nice metal buckles. The watch faces are good looking and attractive, and it’s easy to change.It can be hard to actually play Tetris considering the size, and sometimes it mistakes inputs, but it gets it right 80% of the time.For the price, I think this is decent. I don’t absolutely love it, but it’s pretty solid. If the battery issue works itself out I’d give it 5 stars.UPDATEAfter a few charging cycles it’s doing much better. i used it on a hike for a full day, and it had 60% battery at the end of the day. this included about 30 minutes of Tetris total. The step counting is fairly accurate against other smart watches, and it’s holding up nicely.As it stands, 9/10 I would recommend!

It’s disappointing for the ip I bought it for.
It’s ok. It’s a shame to have a dial, but it’s not used for the game. The watch itself is nice. But the gameplay for Tetris is not. Half the time the block rotates instead of moving over. The puzzle game is ok. I’d love the Tetris time displays having much more motion.

Fun concept, poor execution.
Fun idea, poor execution. The tetris game on the watch is not very good, it’s scaled way down and uses the touch screen for some reason when the crown could have very easily been used for controls instead, and the battery life is terrible. Got maybe 6 hours out of it, making it effectively entirely useless as an actual daily use watch. But if you like tetris like I do, you’ll probably buy it anyway.
