1 review for RX 550 4GB Graphics Card LP GDDR5 128Bit Computer Video Card with HDMI/DVI Ports DirectX 12 PCI Express 3.0 X8 GPU Graphics Card for Gaming PC
Awesome little budget card that performs solid!
Great little starter graphics card for a budget build that will do a good job for you on the cheap. 4gb DDR5 in a card that performs decent and runs cool for around 60-70 bucks and will support two monitors is great. With 4gb of dedicated Vram memory, it will do all the things you expect of a budget PC just fine and even handle some gaming so long as you don’t expect to be running fortnite at 240fps. Graphics quality is perfect for streaming and light gaming. These cards are great for simple low cost builds for a back up computer or a guest room computer. They run cool so they will last a very long time, I mean when you can throw together a nice looking case and Ryzen 5 4200, rx550, 450w power supply, 1tb SSD, 16gb 2666mhz Ddr4 for about 350 bucks what more can you ask for? It will play fortnite just fine for non competitive players and get 80fps in game no problem and 100-120fps in creative on low settings with that exact build I just stated with some simple optimization and mild over clocking. For basic non competitive gaming this system I just stated is plenty, for streaming and browsing it’s plenty, it’s gonna boot up super quick and run cool and quite. These are awesome little cards, just don’t expect to be playing high vtx demand games at high frame rates as it’s not gonna happen. Like the flight combat Sim for example DCS, the system I just stated would play it to some extent on lowest settings and would have a playable frame rate so long as the system was optimized, out the box it wouldn’t play it at a playable frame rate. You can build a excellent super budget system for right around 350 bucks (less if you go with a cheap plain PC case and search for the best prices on piece you could probably get it to right at 300) they will do everything you expect a PC to do and be quick and responsive for most tasks and even do well for basic non competitive gaming I mean It really is a super bargain when you think about how capable it is for so little money. Build it your self the system I just spoke of for about 320-350 dollars and you have a system that will out perform 600 dollar prebuilts. Takes an hour or less to put one together and literally anyone can do it with just a little bit of patience and some YouTube videos to help you along your first time building. This really is an awesome little budget VTX, it does a great job for what it is, just don’t expect to much out of it. Like I said if your expecting to get 240fps end game in fortnite this isn’t gonna do it, but no 100 dollar vtx could. You want high performance you gotta pay for it. This is the Honda civic of VTX, it will take you where you need to go reliably and cheaply but it aint gonna do anything more… If you want a 0-60mph in 2 second hyper car then you have to pay for that hyper car and get you a 5090 and build you a 8k dollar system. If all you need is a good reliable car that takes you where you want to go on the cheap, the Rx550 4gb is that car.
