Still a good choice
I installed the 2 of the Powered/Wifi versions of this same camera 2 years ago albeit this one is purely POE, so no battery or WiFi options. That’s fine because those are the biggest sources of camera complaints. The actual camera & options are identical. It took me half the day to run the 100′ wire and complete the mounting but that’s mostly my many homeowner mistakes – should have used plastic wire hangers rather than powered staple gun. Also should have used shielded wire – cheap wire kinks too easily. On to the camera.Pros:- The PC app has a great multi-camera view. Note that wired connections are suggested since it live-streams from all cameras, which could overwhelm WiFi.- Dual camera setup is no hype. The 2nd camera’s 6x optical zoom, that’s automatic, really does help recognize figures that it’s tracking.-Very clear image.- Lots of setup options.- Allows for “always record”. Even with 2 cameras, it holds recording for several days. The Viewing filters allow me to find the activations by type (person, car, animal, other). If I want to see what happened between those activations, I can. Very helpful for times when it didn’t activate. With this option on, I know FOR SURE that I won’t miss recording a critical moment. It may not track how I’d want, but that’s where having 2 cameras come in because the wider one will is about a 110 degree view, which is usually enough.- Allows for IR to always be on so that it detects everything, then the light comes on for activations. This helps for a better image, as well as for letting the subject know they’ve been noticed. Having the light track them, even better!Cons:- Physical tracking causes it to blur for half a second every time it moves, which is maybe 6 times just tracking someone walking for 20 feet. It re-focuses and re-sets it’s exposure.- Older low-tech exposure tech. Doesn’t do advanced exposure manipulation you’d need to have any hope of license plate recognition at night.- All ReoLink cameras only support 256GB, even though Amazon description may exaggerate and say 512GB on some.- Lighting options could be more robust.- The IR recording is very grainy. I’ve had IR capable cameras that are like a black-n-white moving in near total darkness.
Excellent security camera, unbeatable quality and price
I purchased this security camera and it truly exceeded my expectations. The image quality is clear, even at night thanks to its night vision, and the coverage angle allows me to monitor the entire room without blind spots. Installation was quick and easy, both for mounting and connecting to the app, which works reliably with real-time alerts. The price-to-quality ratio is excellent: for what I paid, I got a reliable device with sturdy materials and full features like motion detection and instant notifications. The Wi-Fi connectivity is stable, and the camera responds quickly to commands from my phone. In summary, I am very satisfied. I recommend it 1000% 😅😅, I absolutely love it! It’s totally worth the investment for home or office security.
Newer hardware requires latest iOS app to zoom
I have four of these cameras, and the oldest one (purchased Sept 2025) worked flawlessly, but the three newest ones (purchased Oct 2025) did not zoom using the iOS iPhone app, although they did work properly on Android. Reolink customer support was very responsive in getting the problem fixed: they updated the Reolink iOS app and then everything worked as advertised. 5 stars for a good product and great customer service!
Great upgrade to my ring app without a subscription
The REOLINK PTZ TrackMix was a good upgrade from my Ring Spotlight Camera. This is obviously a more robust camera than the other cameras on the market for the price range. Here are some Pros and Cons that I came across after setting up multiple REOLINK Cameras.Pros1. Video Quality is great with the spotlight on, or using just the night vision.2. Continuous Recording does work using the NVR hub or without when adding a 256 GB SD card (around 2 weeks of storage).3. PTZ Camera works great when placed above your front door so you can see your Amazon packages by tilting down while away.4. The software app does allow you to view your camera or preview all cameras at once using Windows or Apple Devices5. You can hook up the NVR and see your cameras on your TV via an HDMI input.6. You can download your recorded clips to your phone or computer if needed.7. Spotlight is bright enough for my small backyard8. The 2 way talk is convenient when you have kids at home, and they don’t have their phone on, and you need to talk to them directly.9. The App and device is not as intrusive with asking permission to all your resources on your phone as the EUFY was.10. No need to pay for a subscription because you can access REOLINK recorded footage directly from the SD Card or from the NVR system. Trackmix can be use locally recorded only if needed.11. Using the Playback mode on the PC runs really well. Thinking of using this system for our church since PoE works really well to carry sound, video, and power to the camera. You can also plug it into a power source as well.12. Faster connection when viewing my cameras remotely than the EUFY and around the same speed as the Ring.13. You can buy a corner mount to install on the corner of your house, which extends your field of viewCons1. Despite having the sensitivity settings at high, middle, or low, the PTZ camera will miss motion events from time to time. The PTZ tracking didn’t even record the possum in my backyard that I trapped, despite the animal walking right under the camera, which is attached to my 6ft privacy fence. Elevation could help with detection.2. PTZ doesn’t detect well if the motion is below the camera or if the camera is point away from the object until it walks in front of the lens.3. It’s large and noticeable, so no disguising this camera.4. The App needs work because some settings are buried under other random settings that you wouldn’t think to look for, but it does what I need it to do.5. This model doesn’t have the automated presets that the PTZ Camera will follow like the RLC-823S2.6. Limited wide view if mounted 6ft.
NOT THAT GOOD
NOT THAT GOOD. CAMERA HAS 2 EYES ON ONE BALL AND SHOWS BOTH CAMERAS ON THE APP. YOU CANT ZOOM IN JUST ONE CAMERA WITHOUT THE OTHER ONE BEING OPENED.
Setup camera to monitor our driveway for kids doing knock and run aways. First day after install caught them at it. Sample image above. Works well but the deterrence works even better. Very obvious and easy to see it is tracking movement. Simple to set up, just one Cat 6 cable to run for a POE install. Unfortunately we are on a laneway so it doesn’t cover everything but the camera is great.
I am writing this review after having my first trackmix replaced under warranty. From day 1 the zoomed in lense image had vertical lines except for when it detected an event. During an event the image was clear.I figured I needed do update my firmware on the camera and my nvr so lived happily with the main lense operating fine.Eventually I tried to fix the vertical line issue and discovered it was a fault with my camera. I communicated directly with reolink who were amazing. After some troubleshooting they deemed it was a fault and I had a new camera in a week. The camera is a big piece of kit. The tracking works well most of the time. There are some unpredictable movements.Having the ability to have set presets is good and communicating through the camera can be handy when you aren’t home.
Quick delivery. Not too bad of a camera. Has a few issues but the company could solve them with a firmware up date. No firmware up dates since 2024. I have 12 Reolink Cameras and this one has a few bugs like picking up a small rock as a dog, a bird as a car etc. Had the Horizontal tracking change its setting and I had to restore the camera.

Although it seems to be a very good camera , it is definately not just plug and play like the other three we have, there is a lot of setting up,
