One of the best motherboards at $70!
Great budget motherboard and high quality! (For me) It came with one of the latest bios updates, and recognized all of my components! It has led lights that tell you what’s wrong, and looks clean!Only con is that there’s only 2 ram slots.

Worked fine.
Went together easily and booted up fine. Seems pretty fast and uses very little power — 25W idling. Made for a nice low-cost computer.

Awesome motherboard for the price!
I am running this motherboard for a Ryzen 5 5600 home server, 1TB Samsung 970 EVO PLUS SSD, and 32GB DDR4-3200 CL16 overclocked to DDR4-3600 CL18 and it has been incredibly solid for the 6 months I’ve owned it. You don’t get the best features of the B550 and X570 motherboards, but you get what you pay for with this board.2 DIMM slots on this board, but it makes up for it with a smaller form factor, 64GB DDR4 memory capacity through 2 modules.I recommend this board of the price is right.

BIOS Challenge Accepted
Thick PCB and great deal under $70 in theory however it is very difficult to upgrade BIOS. You must use a basic AM4 (CPU 3100x or possibly Athlon) to update BIOS. Disappointed in MSI marketing, ymmv.I have a 5700X in this motherboard, 64GB of RAM and it maxes out a 3060 12GB. 1TB PNY and 2TB Samsung NVME drives have both worked well. Data transfer tops out around 3500 mb/s.PCIe 3.0 is not a bottleneck for non-AAA gaming performance however this board will not support the fastest speeds on PCIe 4.0 NVME drives.Updated this rating to 4 stars after further consideration with potential overclocking. I may add a SATA ARGB Controller for enhanced cooling. 1 A header for System Fan cooling and another 1 A header for CPU cooling are a limitation out of the box.I added a TP-Link PCIe WiFi 6 card that works well however that means additional storage must be SATA. This board could use an advanced X3D CPU with a BIOS update however it is PCIe 3.0 which will hurt with newer GPUs.

Great budget
I bought this about a year ago. Really good budget board. I game a lot and it’s been very good to me.Types of games: overwatch 2, Marvel rivals, COD warzone and BO6, Minecraft. Depending on how heavily modded, Minecraft works pretty great. I also run a Nvidia 2060 super FE and a Ryzen 5 5500 (stock cooler), 32 gb ram.The 2060 is as high as you can go on that board (same with the Ryzen, I think). Can handle just about anything, although I did have to turn down the graphics quality on BO6 but that could be because of everything else hat I have installed. I do need to get rid of some useless junk.Great board.

You can’t go wrong with an MSI board
The board came with all the necessary screws, risers, and cables needed for installation. It is a replacement for an MSI board that has been in service for 14 years and is still running, but is no longer upgradable.

I recently used the MSI A520M-A PRO for a budget-friendly gaming setup, and it’s been performing admirably. Paired with a Ryzen 5 5600G and 16GB of DDR4 RAM, the system handles 1080p gaming and everyday tasks smoothly. The motherboard’s support for DDR4 memory up to 4600 MHz (OC) is a nice touch, offering flexibility for future upgrades.Pros:Affordable Price Point: Ideal for budget-conscious builders seeking reliable performance without unnecessary frills.Ease of Installation: The Micro-ATX form factor fits well in compact cases, and the BIOS is user-friendly, making setup straightforward even for first-time builders.Stable Performance: Handles daily computing tasks and moderate gaming without issues. The inclusion of features like Core Boost and DDR4 Boost enhances system stability and performance.Cons:Limited Expansion Options: With only two RAM slots and a single M.2 slot, there’s less room for future upgrades compared to higher-end boards. No Overclocking Support: The A520 chipset doesn’t support CPU overclocking, which might be a limitation for enthusiasts looking to push their hardware.Connectivity Limitations: Some users have reported issues with front panel USB ports and missing drivers, requiring manual downloads from MSI’s website.amazon.comFinal Thoughts:The MSI A520M-A PRO is a dependable choice for those building a cost-effective system without the need for advanced features. While it has its limitations, especially concerning expansion and overclocking, it delivers stable performance for everyday use and light gaming. If you’re aiming for a straightforward build that won’t break the bank, this motherboard is worth considering.
