Well built, quiet, fully modular, PCIe 5.1 & 12V-2×6 support, great price for a 850W unit
This “MONTECH Century II – 850W High-End ATX Gaming Power Supply – 80 Plus Gold & Cybenetics Platinum – Fully Modular – ATX 3.1 & PCIe 5.1 Ready with 12V-2×6 Cable – 10 Years Warranty” checked all the boxes for me! I am building a gaming PC with a mATX motherboard in the smallest mATX case I can find. I should have used a SFX (small form-factor) PSU but most of them (in this wattage that I needed) are more expensive than I am willing to pay. Then I found THIS one, even though it is NOT SFX (this is actually a full sized ATX PSU), due to the fact that it is fully modular (I only need to install the cables I needed to use), and also it has 12V-2×6 to support my GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, I am still able to fit this into the case nicely. For a 850W, 80 plus gold & cybernetics platinum, with 10 years warranty unit, the price ($90) is great. Even at full blown operation, it is still running cool and quiet. It is very well built, the enclosure is nice and pretty, and all the cables seem to be of good quality.Thank you for reading this review, I hope that this review & the pictures are helpful to you in support of your purchase decision.

Excellent upgrade to feed a hungry GPU
GPUs are hungry. I wanted a new 9070xt to go with my 5800x3d. My old 600w gold PSU wasn’t going to cut it. I did some research and saw that this one had great internals and was really good value for the money. The install was easy, I had everything I needed, the modularity was solid, and it works very well. I’m even a fan of the eco mode, which surprised me. Nice and quiet.

Powerful PSU for an excellent price
I have no complaints at all about this PSU. Fits well in their Montech XR case and super easy to install. It simply slides right in the bottom and secures with screws. No noise that I can hear and it’s also overkill for my build. Mainly bought this to support more demanding hardware in the future. Given it’s price, I’d recommend it simply for the headroom and greater efficiency it’ll have at lower loads. This sometimes can lead to a longer lifespan for the power supply as it’ll run much more cool.Fully modular with plenty of extra cable ties and straps and all the cables you’ll need.Remember to never reuse cables between power supplies. Keep them separated in their boxes if you build multiple computers.

    Appeared quality until plugged in.
One star and will update based on support. Bought this for my first PC build which is an expensive endeavor right now. Arrived unboxed everything appeared solid. However hooked up and plugged in and got a scratching/scraping noise from the internal fan hitting the exterior of the casing of PSU itself. Extremely disappointing as this is quite concerning as to the overall quality and longevity I can expect from this unit…

    Pretty nice PSU. Ngl.
So far, really quiet, gets the job done. connectors fit nice and snug, even better than my old ones actually. comes with the velcro things for cable management. Has an eco friendly mode switch, which is awesome for power saving. Sits in my pc really well. Power is very stable, and consistent. No RBG, but not a deal breaker.

    Amazing little silver thing
One of the best bang for your buck power supplies out there. It’s modular so it makes it easy to install and organize everything, looks great, and it has made my system more responsive than my previous power supply. If you’re looking for a power supply then get this one for sure.(Ps. This power supply is rated a A- in the psu tier list)

    Awesome
Shipping was questionable. It could’ve stood to be inside of the box instead of the plastic Amazon bag. The box has a small hole in it from shipping. Other than that. The part itself was untouched. The cables were untouched and everything worked as it should. I install it in my rig. It was straightforward easy to do. This PSU is A class lots of room for future proof

A Tier rated PSU on the SPL charts at a great price.
Pros,1. It’s a 1200w 80+ Gold power of course.2. It has the new ATX 3.1 and PCIE 3.1 standard.3. It has the new 12v 2×6 connector fir the newest GPUs(especially from Nvidia).4. Has pretty of connections for most PC components.5. The fan isn’t too loud and it’s surprisingly cool(see cons).6. It has an Eco switch(though I don’t use it).7. This PSU will handle a GPU like an RTX 5090. I’m currently running a RTX 5090 with no issue at the moment(only time will tell).8. It’s a sturdy PSU, yet smaller in size. This made routing the cables so much easier.9. Lastly the price. For what you get and tge quality this would be extremely hard to beat even if it’s competition was running a sale. It’s not impossible to beat because some may need some better and/or different where the price isn’t justified.Cons,1. The intake area isn’t the most ventilated. I’m actually surprised it stays as cool as it does. Perhaps because I’m not majorly pushing my PC’s power limit.2. The fan could be a little better, but it seems to do the job.3. I wish some of the cables were braided rather than using flat plastic coated wire. The coated wire maybe easier to route, but I’m skeptical of it’s durability and I was cautious when installing this PSU because of this.4. If your PC is running something like a RTX 5090(especially with a last generation Intel I7s or I9s) I’d advise undervolting your GPU. I will put less risk on your 12v cable, reduce any coil whine and possibly make PSU and other components last longer.

Just read the professional reviews. Stellar unit. Incredible price to performance. Only possible caveat is it’s longevity. We’ll see…
