This is an excellent printer and scanner. It has Wi-Fi, direct connect, and email sending – all the necessary connectivity for printing and scanning. The touchscreen makes it much easier to manage. I can scan multiple documents using the dedicated tray for that purpose and can print on both sides as well (it can scan documents of different sizes with the adjustment ruller). It is lightweight, and when you take it somewhere, you don’t have to search for a power supply because it has a battery that lasts quite a while. This is exactly what I wanted; sometimes you forget documents, and having it in your car is a good backup to print the document you need.

Worked Fine until the battery died
I purchased this printer in June 2020 for the scanning and printing ability as well as the compact size. I didn’t need the portability, but thought that would be an added bonus just in case. The printer worked fine for approximately 3.5 years, although it did seem to go through ink rather quickly considering I don’t print very much. I mostly used for scanning documents which worked fine. However, there is apparently a Lithium Ion battery in this printer required for power, despite the fact that the printer has an AC adapter plug. I have never used this printer for travel and it has always remained plugged into an AC outlet, but after 3.5 years the battery (that I didn’t even know existed until now) has died and the printer shut off without warning, explanation, or error code. After entirely too much research through the completely unhelpful HP website, I finally just googled the battery SN and discovered you can purchase replacement batteries for $106. I purchased a battery, received a damaged box with no instructions other than to put the battery into the printer. I did so and the printer has been showing an error code for 3 days stating “Faulty Battery – The battery is faulty and must be replaced. For ordering information, visit the HP Support website.” I tried searching the HP Support website again for help, but there is no information anywhere about replacing these batteries. When I search for the printer on support, it directs me to order a support plan with a monthly fee in order to receive help from support. I’ve now requested a replacement battery, but I’m not hopeful at finding a solution at this point. After all of this, I would say that unless you have unlimited funds and don’t mind replacing the battery every three years, I would not recommend this printer. I also wouldn’t spend over $400 for a printer again that also requires a non-rechargeable battery for use. I’ll be looking for a cheaper printer that’s easier to replace next. Preferably not HP.

Usual HP high quality. I read all the negative reviews but felt HP is a very large established company and I personally have owned at least five or six printers in my lifetime that never were as bad as the complaints listed. So I went ahead and purchased this one. It worked perfectly right out of the box. (with my Mac even). So as usual, I feel some who are less than “technically inclined” can often influence others who are. This is a shame as I feel a lot of good products get penalized for problems that don’t really exists. Im completely happy with this printer!

Purchased May 2025 and am very satisfied with to date. Was a bit of a challenge to wifi connect due to updates not instructions. Have been able to print wirelessly using computer and cellphone (Andriod). Haven’t tried other features yet. Battery for full mobile Printing works though I haven’t tried to determine battery life. Recommend this product.

I absolutely love this printer! It is easy to take with me, it works with my phone with no problems, very quiet when running, the images whether printing or copying are crystal clear, and everyone who has seen it now wants one! I couldn’t have found a better printer for my needs.

We live in a small condo, so can’t have a larger printer just taking up space. This small printer is solidly built, meant to be stowed to be on the road (I sprung for a carrying case – it cost just over a hundred, but also really well made), and it works really well in such small living quarters. Just printed up everything I needed for my corporate taxes, and everything printed up really well! A couple weeks ago I scanned in a tax document, got it sent to my email, pdf’d all nice and neat… I’m really enjoying this handy thing. I have not printed any photos, but for printing documents and scanning, this has done really well. This printer has only been with us for a month, so I may come back to update, but so far, it’s a great product.
