Easy to install
I have the nest at 4 different properties .It used to take a couple hours for our lake house to heat up or cool down. Now we set the temp from anywhere, and it’s at the desired temp when we arrive. Works great for our needs.

I HATE Google products…EVERY one of them
There’s no such thing as a plug and play product from Google. Whatever and whenever you purchase in order for them to spy on you costs you more and more $$. They should PAY YOU to have it in your home. You’re actually paying for them to spy on your every move, and if you think that replacing the previous Gen Nest thermostat that worked just fine with this, think again. The Gen 1 Nest was a five minute install. This one requires a bunch of retrofitting along with a power supply that the Gen1 didn’t need. I say again….I HATE GOOGLE PRODUCTS!! To add insult to injury, you can only use it from the actual wall unit because the app won’t work until you fork out $$$$ to install a power supply. The interface is so bad…WTH was wrong with the XXlnt Gen1!? It worked great. They sell you this for 3X the price of the original and its construction and operation are terrible. Unless you’re really sure-of-hand, you get incorrect commands over and over…terrible experience. I HATE THIS THING!!

This is fine but coming from the “learning” Nest, this is a downgrade. Just spend the extra cash. You use it every day.

Not as intuitive to use as the previous generation. Self install was extremely straight forward.
