true evaluation
BWINE REVIEW OF F7GIM DRONE10.15.25My name is Gary Marcove, I am and have been an FAA Certified Drone Pilot for 3 years. I not only fly drones; I also fly RC Aircrafts.I am reviewing the Bwine F7GIM Drone.I currently own a Holy Stone HS720 2.4Ghz drone, and have been flying this for a couple of years. One of the biggest issues with this Drone was stabilization. I do Astrophotography and wanted to use this Drone for that reason. It is not a light Drone, and I thought it could withstand the Colorado winds. It also doesn’t have a 3 axis Gimble so that was also an issue. In short it didn’t work for one if the uses that I purchased for, that is why I was looking for an alternative.Just an FYI: This is not a comparison between the two Drones. This as I mentioned before is a completely honest evaluation on the Bwine F7GIM.EVALUATIONThe Unboxing:When a person usually unboxes a piece of equipment, they have pieces and parts that are in bags but are not labeled, and you have to look at the manual to match what you have on your table to what is in the picture. Well, I was completely surprised that my unboxing had all of the cables, expertly marked. I had no problem distinguishing what cables are used for data, charging, and even the batteries were in their own boxes. I use a lot of technology, and have never received any product so defined. The Case:This comes with a fabric semi hard case that has room for all of the devices that are needed to use your F7GIM Drone. All you need is to pick up the case and out the door you go.The Bwine Mini App:Download the app is very easy and is a must. This app contains all the information for the Drone and also for the Controller. This app is very user friendly and for experienced pilots, they should be able to use the drone very quickly after all batteries have been charged. Two batteries come with the unit, and the controller is also charged by a USB cable. No more AA batteries to worry about in the controller.I will talk a lot more about this app further in this review.Registration:Please go to the FAA website to register your new F7GIM. It costs $5.00, and it broadcasts the FAA registration/remote ID signal when your aircraft’s motor begins to spin. It is a safety feature. This drone will achieve a height of almost 400ft, and a flight distance of 10,000ft. when set out of the beginner mode. This is a safety mechanism that needs to be implemented by all pilots of Drones and RC Aircrafts. All of my Flying equipment is Registered. The Manual:The Manual of this Drone is Amazing…. Even as a certified Drone Pilot, I even read this manual 4 times. There is so much detailed information in it and, it will excel any user that is flying this drone. I can tell that Bwine, took their expertise and didn’t just throw something together. I do suggest that even an accomplished pilot read this before use.Back to the Bwine Mini App:The other thing that I really love is in the Bwine, app they have three areas on the first page 1. Instructions. (An online manual that you can use while you are flying or just need some information.) This is truly an outstanding feature who needs a paper manual in your pocket while you fly. You can just go to the home page and get the info at your fingertips. 2. Support (An online support team.) The ability to contact support via text. OMG. Again, a company that is looking out for the customer. The other item is that you can report an issue with your email address, add your question, and even add a video or photo. This is so cool. All within the app. 3. Free Call to Support. While still on the home page of the app you can make a free call to Bwine support. As I mentioned earlier, this company has really thought of the consumer, it is a nice feeling that there are still some companies out there trying to support and work with their customers.Features and Functions on the Mini App:I am going to go over all the features on the app, that I tested. I also added some of my tests and gadgets in the testing just to see how this Bwine F7GIM would work and react.GPS Track:GPS Tracking is really cool. Basically, once the Drone is up in the air you touch the GPS Tracking button on the app, and the Drone follows you. This is not new, my other Drone has it, but the difference is the response and reaction time. While the Drone was in the air I engaged the tracking button, and then first walked to see how the drone was following me. It was about 15 feet away and about 15-18 feet in the air. I then ran full speed forward, then to the side, then to the other side, then straight and then backward. As I passed out on the ground I couldn’t confuse the Drone. (5 Stars)Orbiting Flight:Orbiting Flight is when the Drone will circle the controller, you can move up the Drone or down. I sat on my flight box and had the Drone orbit for more that 15 minutes. I got dizzy, watching it but it allowed me to look at the built in instruction guide to answer a couple of questions I had. While I was doing this, I recorded the orbit and showed it to my wife. She said it was cool, but couldn’t watch more that a couple of minutes. The Drone never lost its point of origin, even though the day that I was testing it the winds were about 10-15 Mph. Again, impressive. (5 Stars)Vertical Screen:The Vertical Screen component, allows you to switch to vertical to take video and photos, a nice option but something I personally don’t use. I would still give this option. (5 Stars)VR Split Screen:So, this is an interface to be used with VR Goggles and or Glasses. So, I purchased a VR system that had DVR and was supposed to work with most types of Drones, Unfortunately, this didn’t work. However, since the F7GIM uses a Data cable between the Bwine controller and your phone, I purchased a product called, (DRONE MASK 2). This product is super wild the company calls it “An Immersive Flying Experience”. The product is designed in Norway, and let me tell you, this gives a whole different type of fun to flying. First of all, since you have to touch your smartphone once in a while to do different things, the Drone Mask 2, actually has light proof neoprene screen access on both sides of it so you can put your fingers in and touch your smart device.Basically, you put your smart device and cable in the front of the mask hook the data cable up to the Bwine controller and you are now part of your F7GIM. What I mean by that is you are looking out of the camera. All of the features and functions on the Mini App are available on your screen. With the most impressive item and important item being the Attitude Indicator. Just as well you have the full screen of all the features and functions that your F7GIM can do.If you ever wanted to see what it is like to fly and actually experience it without leaving the ground, this is a must. Also, if you are going out 10,000 feet in distance and up almost 400 feet in altitude you really know where you are. This is a must for night flying, you have total control and you know where you are all the time. With the Bwine F7Gim and the Drone Mask 2, they allow you to have a total experience. Using these two together lets the night skies become friendly. By the way all cables come with the Drone Mask 2, its basically plug and play. One other item that I use for daytime flying and night time flying is a Helipad, my Helipad has a nighttime option that has lights on it so it is easier for the F7GIM to find and land. Also, it looks freaking cool.Night Mode:The Night Mode increases the brightness of the Mini App during night flights, and should always be used of course at night and also in low light conditions (5 Stars)PLEASE NOTE NIGHTTIME FLYING IS DANGEROUS YOU NEED TO MASTER DAYTIME FLYING FIRST. EVERYTHING LOOKS DIFFERENT AT NIGHT. ALSO, IT IS HARDER TO SEE ELECTRICAL LINES AND TREES. ITS BEST TO FLY AT NIGHT WITH CLEAR SKIES AND A FULL MOON.Calibration and Maneuverability:There are two types of calibration on the F7GIM, there is Compass Calibration and Gyroscope Calibration. It is super important to perform every time you use your drone. These Calibrations are used to prevent sensor interference, and also to make sure that your camera works at optimum performance. Before Calibration you need to do your preflight checklist.Compass Calibration:1, Horizontal Calibration.2. Vertical CalibrationThese two types of Calibrations make sure that your Drone sensors are tuned in and that there are no abnormalities that could result in loss of control and crashes (Please Read Manual)Gyroscope Calibration:This makes the camera give the best picture. (Please Read Manual)These Calibrations are essential and are very simple, and can save you’re Drone. (5 Stars on both)Maneuverability of the Drone:The F7GIM has incredible maneuverability, I actually setup an obstacle course to test its maneuverability. I placed 3 Hoop sizes that are used in competition racing to test the F7GIM. The 3 octagon hoops were of different sizes. 27” wide, 23” wide, and 20” wide. The Heights were customizable. Well, the first time I went through these I made the 27” and the 23” and crashed into the 20”. This was using the sport mode of the F7GIM, the 2nd run I switched to the Stable Mode, and I was able to make it through all 3 obstacles. The obstacles were placed on a little league football field and were approximately 10 yards apart and placed from the left to the right hash mark. (5 Star) My other drone still struggles with the 23” and 20” at any speed. (LOL).Please Note: Stable Mode is also Considered Camera Mode:Batteries:The batteries that come with the F7Gim are rated at 35 mins of flight time. This depends on many different factors. I have been using these now for a month and have been able to get almost 50 mins of flight time per battery. The system comes with 2 batteries. As I said it depends upon the environment. If it is windy the flight time will be diminished if you are using sport mode to fight the winds. Again, this has not been and issue, but a very nice surprise. I have flown the Drone in 10-20 MPH mile winds, and have not noticed to much of a loss of battery time, this also depends upon how you are flying the Drone. I would give the batteries a. (5 Star)Camera/Stability:In the beginning of this review, I had mentioned that I do Astrophotography. I needed a Drone that would be super stable and take amazing pictures at night and also scenic pictures during the day. This is the ticket. My Holy Stone Drone is actually heaver but is not even close to as stable as this F7GIM. The scenic/panoramic pictures are amazing. My Night pictures are even more than I could have asked for. The 3 axis Gimbal Gyroscope is nothing but amazing. I have been super surprised on the quality and durability of this piece of technology. Not to say this company that has really gone the extra mile. Keep it up Bwine.CONCLUSIONWhen I first started this review, I said that this was my completely honest and truthful evaluation of the Bwine Drone Product F7GIM. Although, there are so many things that this Drone does, I was not able to go through each and every item. I know I need to read the manual a few more times, because of its vast capabilities. Being a Certified FAA Drone Pilot I only want to make sure that other customers have the truth. Everything that I have stated is of my own opinion. This piece of technology shows how far Drones for the public have come. Bwine, states that this Drone is for beginners and adults, I certainly agree with there evaluation on that. The Drone has Quality, Performance, Ease of Use, Ease of Flight, Build Quality, and Great Battery Life. There are few products out there that I have these qualities. Also, many other built-in items that I didn’t even speak about. So again, I am sold on this product and would recommend it with a 5 Star rating. This is the first time of giving a rating for a product and a company that I do not have a con. However, I do have two suggestions.1. I would include in this package your Bwine 65W 3 Port Charger. The reason being, everyone has different types of USB chargers and LiPo batteries are very unstable and I believe that this would ensure that the batteries are charged correctly, safely, and all with the same system.2. The other item would be to include a correctly sized sun hood or sunshade for the controller. As when you are getting direct sun on the controller it is hard to read. All in all, If the Rating would go above 5 Stars I would go higher, but 5 Star rating is what my opinion is. Great customer service, product, and Support.Gary Marcove
Sam Smith –
Quality and Easy to Use Drone
I received the Bwine F7GIM Drone very quickly with next day shipping with no issues. The shipping packaging was good and the product packaging was of high quality. The drone comes in a nice case with a handle. It provides room for two batteries, the drone (folded up), and the remote. It has a netted area in the lid for documentation, drone registration docs, a couple small cables, and spare props.I like that Bwine was responsible and explained the process of registering the drone on the FAA website “DroneZone”. I have done this in the past, so it was simple for me to add this new drone, but I had to figure it on my own in the past. Please be sure to follow the rules and complete that step and learning drone piloting responsibilities.Ease of Use:I found the drone to be very easy to use. Bwine was thoughtful in providing assistance in learning the drone with small things like a fitted overlay for the remote that shows all the functions of the buttons and levers. It also assists with good functionality like returning the drone to the point of take-off when the batter is beginning to get low and provides almost completely automated landing capabilities. If you are landing on a large flat area, like an empty parking lot, the landing can be completely automated. I land on a 3′ pad on grass, and due to the inherent GPS inaccuracies, I do assist the landing by either guiding the drone the last couple of feet down or moving the landing pad under where the drone is descending. It is very close in most cases – within a couple of feet. If you are a beginner and pick a nice wide-open spot, take-off and landings will not be a problem. I like the design of the drone with the “landing feet” being right below the props. That provides good stability upon landing and nearly eliminates the chances of the drone tipping over on landing (important on windy days).During my first flights I did have about a 10mph wind. The drone handled the wind very well (I didn’t even put it in the “sport” mode and it still did very well). The stability of the drone and the camera gimble provide stable, quality pictures. The picture of the house is in the wind.In addition to the basic flight capabilities, I tested the Route Planning, Fly Around, and GPS Follow functions. All worked well. I included a video of the GPS Follow functionality. The drone was following me in my pickup.Bwine Mini App:I found this application very usable and straightforward to use. It provided a good interface to the camera so I could see from above and know when I wanted pictures/video. It linked to the remote with minimal effort via the cable. It is a little awkward to plug in the cable to the remote, but I found it easier to do that than configuring WiFi connections or other more technical interfacing methods.Camera:The quality of the camera was very good. I selected the highest resolution for the photo images and retrieved them from the SD card after my flights. The SD card resolutions matched what was in the Bwine Mini app (5700 x 3200 pixels). The images sent from the drone to the application/cell phone were the same quality. The video was also confirmed at 3840 x 2160 @30 sec as specified. Both were very good quality, even during flight.Battery Life:Overall, the battery life was good. I was able to run through most of the functionality tests with one charged battery, then I went up again with a new battery to test fly just for fun and take some additional pictures. I would estimate 15-20 minutes or so of flying depending on wind, camera usage, etc. The automatic return home estimates the necessary battery to return to the landing spot. I found it to be very conservative (a good thing).I went through four battery charges on the drone batteries (over two outings) and the remote charge was still at 66%.I did have a challenge finding an SD card in my available stash to work with the drone. The one that worked was a Samsung 128GB EVO card. I had some others that the drone would not recognize that were 32GB. I would recommend ordering an SD card with the drone that is FAT32 compatible and 128GB unless you have some around. The only negative I found was the screen on the remote was very difficult to see in bright sunlight. This is not a showstopper as most of the functionality is managed through the connected cell phone on the Bwine Mini application. After the drone initializes and connects to the remote, I didn’t really look at the remote screen that much. In addition, the remote talks to you when key actions are underway (e.g. low battery return to home).

Great customer service, please read.
I initially purchased the B wine Mini F7, subsequently upgrading to the larger model. My experience with the Mini F7 was problematic; after takeoff, it would ascend approximately six feet and then become unresponsive to controls, necessitating its return. This issue was not present with the larger unit. Following my review of the Mini F7, which detailed two instances of this malfunction, the company proactively sent a replacement. Unfortunately, the second unit exhibited the same behavior. My review, which indicated no significant dissatisfaction given the product’s affordability and my desire for product familiarity, prompted a company representative to contact me. They offered a full refund for both Mini F7 units, one of which was nearly a year old and the other a few months old, acknowledging that both were experiencing similar operational issues and were not fully functional. We accepted the refund, which was processed to my Amazon account for both units. Despite these past issues, I remain interested in acquiring a Mini F7 for recreational purposes and may consider re-purchasing, particularly if product improvements have been implemented. My primary commendation is for the exceptional customer service provided by B wine. Their team actively facilitated the return process, even waiving the requirement to send back the physical product. This level of service was outstanding and effectively mitigated any concerns regarding their customer support. I want to thank B wine for being a stand-up company who values their customers.
