Good price. A bit dated, but wonderful firmware and good features. Lots of control.
There are newer chipsets and I largely went with this because of the price to get to the AM5/DDR5 platform without having to sell a kidney. The firmware was pre-flashed with a version that already supported Zen 5 already, so I didn’t have to try to figure out how the headless flash function works. There was still a newer firmware version out there, so I still recommend updating, but you should be able to do so as normal through the menus. There is a lot to be said about ASUS one way or the other, but the motherboard firmwares are pretty good with excellent options. There are bonus extras that many others forget like the uncore/memory “OC mode” which doesn’t actually overclock (they should probably change that name) but can help with performance. There are lots of other little things here and there, some of which I haven’t seen in a few of the other firmwares right now. Nothing major, but altogether you have a lot of control over your system configuration. This doesn’t only allow for good overclocking, but just better control altogether (for example, even lowering clocks is easy to do if you want a system to run cooler and quieter.) It even can override CPU speed to a fixed speed if one was so inclined (you have to be _very_ careful with this, but it can yield good results if the cooling can handle it.)The WiFi and Bluetooth functions were a nice little bonus. In Linux they just worked right out of the box for me, so big plus there. (I half expected that they wouldn’t work and I’m sure ASUS wasn’t thinking of Linux users, but I’m really glad that it does work. Nice bonus feature.) I didn’t even know about the Bluetooth until I saw it show up in Linux, but that’s a very useful feature to have built in to the motherboard. It also has three M.2 slots, though I’m a bit confused about the PCI-E/M2 configuration in this system. I originally read this as a PCI-Express 5.0 system, but it may only be the first M.2 slot? Very confusing. If it’s PCI-E 4.0 only on the PCI-E slot perhaps that will limit later GPU options, but today even if a PCI-E 5.0 card comes out I seriously doubt it could utilize the capabilities of 5.0.All in all a really good bang for the buck if you’re looking for something that isn’t the absolute top of the line but has plenty of features. The fact that it just works right out of the box with Linux also is an excellent plus.

    Great Motherboard…
I’m seriously impressed with the ASUS B850 + WiFi motherboard. From the moment I installed it, it’s been nothing short of excellent. The build quality feels premium, and everything about the design is well thought out—clearly made with performance and ease of use in mind.Installation was straightforward, and all components fit perfectly without any hassle. The built-in WiFi is strong and stable, which is a huge plus—no need for extra adapters or cards. It also supports all the features I was looking for, including great BIOS options and future-proof connectivity.Whether you’re building a new PC or upgrading an existing rig, this board delivers solid performance, stability, and features that punch well above its price. Highly recommended for gamers, creators, or anyone wanting a reliable, high-quality motherboard.

BEST OVERALL MOBO FOR SCOOL STREAMING GAMING AND FIRST TIME BUILDERS
A workhorse! Ran it 5,000 hours in under 12 months, became a Fortnite Creator, went to school full time for digital design, built a local ai, edited countless videos, overclocked the 4070ti super I had attached to it daily for several months, NEVER ONCE HAD A PROBLEM, glitch, surge, shitdown, absolutely ran flawless till I sold it last week to upgrade to its predecessor. I love this board. Aside from the enormous learning curve regarding the bios, something I will constantly complain about till a real instruction manual is actually made for any of thesemobos not just this one, but the overall durability was unmatched in my 40 years of computing. Great for first time builders and pairs flawlessly with the asus tuf gaming gt502 case, a must for this board, even nowadays, the tuf gaming 4070ti super oc 16, crucial 6000mhz ddr5 ram 32gb perfect size and speed for gaming almost any game btw, nzxt elite kraken 360mm aio cooler, asus tuf gaming 1000w power supply, and a Samsung pro 990 nvme m.2 2tb ssd, and make sure above all you get a cpu aluminum frame, and fans that spin at least 3000 rpms and the extra that sit behind the mobo and you have the perfect pc for design school, streaming with two monitors and gaming Fortnite with maxed out graphics and 240fps Your welcome 😉 Btw Flitenite and Liquibox are two maps I published as a Fortnite creator, playable right now and yes those are real player counts, and I owe it to this masterpiece mobo OMG almosr forgot the cpu was an amd ryzen 9 7950x total build nowadays can be done under $2k

    Great motherboard.
I got this used with a flawless tag on it. It came with everything still in the plastic and all of the attachments and no physical signs of wear. The board has been rock solid and works as intended without any issues.

Amazing motherboard! The 12 overall USB ports, including a USB-C port on the back, are the most I’ve seen on an Micro ATX board overall, these will become super useful long-term.Additionally, the 3x M.2 slots are being fully utilised which is great for a small form factor build! What I found most-useful is that the main PCI-e slot is occupying the 2nd slot within my PC case. This is allowing me to use a taller ATX Power Supply towards the top of my case whilst also being able to use a longer graphics card. The BIOS has been easy to navigate and I’m able to configure the CPU to be as efficient as possible after tweaking settings.100% would recommend!
