Absolutely nothing wrong w it but the R5 5500 scores higher on Passmark for same $$
I am a bit of a comp nerd, I enjoy building and benchmarking. I just got the R5 3600 and benched 1800+. I have 2, R5 5500’s and there benching 2000+. AMD say the 3600 supports PCIE 4 on a B550 or new motherboard. I tried a gen 4 M.2 on a B450 mobo and see no benefit of the PCIE4. I did not try the R5 3600 on a newer gen 5 mobo because both of my mobo’s already have gen 4 cpu’s. Money is money, for the same money get the R5 5500. If it’s cheaper then get the r5 3600.

PC now has requirements for Win 11
I’m running an Asus X370-A motherboard. Had the Ryzen 5 1600 that was not Windows 11 ready. Installed an upgraded Bios before ordering and replaced the chip in15 minutes. Windows 11 now has all the requirements and upgrading to 25H2 from 24H2. No longer need to use work arounds, so handy to just download and mount the iso file and install 😀

Ryzen CPU’s Rule!
It does what it’s supposed to. The box factory seal was intact and not tampered with, never been opened, which I was concerned about getting an older cpu. Booted right up and has been running perfectly for two days now. This was an upgrade for my wifes computer that had a Ryzen 5 1600AF in it. It doesn’t come quite close to matching the performance of my Ryzen 7 3700X though, but close enough. Bad thing is, now I had to get a better graphics card to go with it, her 5700xt subpar now.

Great processor. Compiling and heavy cpu tasks handled with speed.
Great processor. The speed is great, and I have mine overclocked with no issues using the included cooler. Comes pre pasted, and it seems like a quality thermal paste. The power levels are stable. The cooler looks great.

Outdated price/performance legend.
Still holds up today for light gaming and workloads, but you should really upgrade from this if you can. Leaving it a five star review for what it is, but just know this is very much a super low end CPU in 2025, especially going into 2026.

Good budget option in 2025
When I bought this processor in 2020 it was a great budget option. Now though there are other options considering this processor is on a dead platform so there is no new option to upgrade to. Though if you are in the market for a low end budget pc maybe for kids or whatever your needs may be then I think this processor is an ok buy for $75.Amazon wants me to talk about the processors capabilities and speed so I’ll give a quick rundown. This product has 6 cores and 12 threads and is made from the zen 2 architecture. In this day and age the product isn’t very fast relatively speaking, However I would recommend someone to watch the YouTube channel Hardware Unboxed to get a better idea of this processors full capabilities.

Good CPU
Good cpu for mid/entry level gaming. Can support high end gaming briefly, but not meant for long term use. Definitely worth upgrading from this cpu – but it will get the job done regardless as it punches well above its weight. Performs best with aftermarket cooling.

Plus tout jeune au moment de l’achat, ce processeur permet l’assemblage d’un petit pc gaming sans prétention, efficace, peu énergivore. Déjà un champion à son lancement , il reste un excellent rapport qualité/prix dans le cadre d’un montage au budget serré. Couplé à une RTX 2060 ou une RX 6600 chez les rouges, il respirera pleinement en 1080p, en ajustant les détails sur moyen ou élevé.

Klasse Prozessor, der Boxed-Lüfter ist jetzt nicht das gelbe vom Ei, wer also Gaming Inhalte genießen möchte sollte sich einen anderen Lüfter bestellen ( Kostenpunkt um die 30-50€). Jedoch muss man sagen, dass man für den Preis einen Klasse Prozessor bekommt der für Modernes Gaming absolut ausreichend ist. Ein kleiner Tipp von mir, wer ein älteres Mainboard verwendet und kein Bild bekommt oder ein Fehler Auftritt, sorgt bitte immer dafür, bevor ihr einen neuen Prozessor einbaut, dass euer Bios auf dem neusten stand ist, sonst werden viele Prozessoren nicht sofort erkannt.
