Great documentation, a few nitpicks
Thermostat came with everything needed, regardless of current setup. I had some initial hesitations because my wiring didn’t quite look like what one of the pictures showed, but there’s so much documentation here that my concern was swept away. I did use the included power adapter for my system, and it was a breeze. Wires connected easily. The magnetic back on that is a nice touch. Once things were powered correctly, the thermostat itself snapped into place, powered up, and was easily configurable through the Tuya app I use for other things. Found it instantly, setup was the simplest I’ve ever had with that app, honestly. Was able to schedule a day, copy to specific days, set heating/cooling/auto, set temperature limits, very quickly. Now, the way that the wall plate is set up did cause some issues with the way the wires want to run, and it took a bit of heavy-handing to get the unit to fit nicely against the wall. There’s also a few things that don’t translate as well as they could. And, there’s a minimum degree discrepancy that’s enforced between heat and cooling modes (this means I can set it to auto, but I must set it to like 74 cool, 71 heat), which I would prefer wasn’t the case. If those aren’t issues for you (and I’ve found a happy medium), this is a fantastic upgrade to simpler thermostats.
